While in prayer one day the Lord gave me a vision… in it I specifically saw 12 tallits (prayer shawls) hanging from our sanctuary wall. I knew it was the Holy Spirit giving me this picture as an instruction…
He said, “You will be a Church that waits in My Presence; therefore, I will perform the work. (Since before time began no one has ever imagined, No ear heard, no eye seen, a God like you who works for those who wait for him. Isaiah 64:4).
What does it symbolize?
The Tallit represents the covering of Yahweh, the Mighty God… being wrapped in The Living Word (Jesus)… where we come and hide under His shadow and rest under the pinions of His wings. (Ps. 91:1,4)
12 Represents the government of God. It represents His established order and divine structure. Jacob had 12 sons, the Tribes of Israel… 12 Judges were given to Judge Israel… there were 12 Minor Prophets. Isaiah 53 contains 12 verses and they describe the coming of Messiah (upon whom the government of God is founded). Jesus was 12 when He was found teaching in the synagogue. Jesus called 12 original Apostles. Revelation reveals the 12 Gates of Heaven in New Jerusalem, a city that is 12,000 furlongs, and contains 12 Foundation Stones… 24 (a multiple of 12) Elders were seated on 24 thrones with crowns of gold on their heads. And finally, but not exhaustively, from the Tree of Life (whose leaves are for the healing of the nations) proceeds 12 fruits, each specially for a different of the 12 months.
“Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end…” – Isaiah 9:7
